CloudConverter is a free, browser-based file conversion service. Our goal is simple: give anyone a fast, no-nonsense way to convert images, audio, video, PDFs — and pull text out of a picture — without installing desktop software, creating an account, or handing over a credit card. Pick a converter, drop in a file, choose a format, and download the result — that's the whole experience.
Why we built this
Most people only need to convert a file once in a while — a photo that won't upload because it's the wrong format, a video a client asked for in MP4 instead of MOV, a batch of images that need to become a single PDF before they can be emailed. Desktop converter software is overkill for that, and a lot of the "free" conversion sites out there are cluttered with pop-ups, fake download buttons, or upload limits designed to push you toward a paid plan. We wanted something faster and more honest than that: a clean tool that does the conversion, gets out of your way, and doesn't pretend the free tier is crippled on purpose.
How the conversions actually work
Every conversion on this site runs on real, industry-standard conversion engines — not a rough approximation — so output quality holds up even for less common formats. The Image to Text tool is different: it runs entirely inside your browser, so the image never leaves your device at all.
Privacy by design
We don't build user accounts, we don't need your email address to let you convert a file, and we don't keep your files around after your download finishes. Uploaded files exist only for the duration of the conversion request and are deleted immediately afterward.
