How it works

1

Add your PDF

Choose or drag up to 10 PDF files, up to 50 MB each. The target is already set to 200 KB; change it in the list if your form asks for something else.

2

Press Compress

The PDF is rebuilt with lighter image settings, one step at a time, and the first version that fits the limit is kept, so you lose as little quality as possible.

3

Download

Check the new size next to each file and download. Text, links and page order stay the same; only the pictures and scans inside get lighter.

A 200 KB cap is everywhere on recruitment sites, exam portals and online public services, usually for degree certificates, experience letters, ID scans and signed forms. It is small enough that phone-scanned PDFs are always rejected, but large enough to keep several pages of text clear. Upload your PDF and get a version of 200 KB or less.

How the 200 KB target works

The PDF is rewritten with Ghostscript, the same engine used by professional print and archive software. The first step only lowers images to screen quality, which already brings most scans under 200 KB. If that is not enough, stronger steps lower image resolution further, and the tool stops at the first one that fits.

Text, page order, bookmarks and links are kept. Nothing is added to your pages: no watermark, no footer.

Multi-page documents

Up to about five to eight scanned text pages usually fit in 200 KB while staying easy to read. For longer documents, check whether the form really needs every page; removing blank or duplicate pages with Remove PDF Pages is often the quickest win.

Need several documents in one upload? Combine them first with Merge PDF, then compress the merged file to 200 KB here.

Common problems and fixes

My signature disappeared after compressing

It is still there, but light blue or grey ink can fade at small sizes. Sign in dark ink, or use the 500 KB target for signed forms.

Five certificates must go in one 200 KB file

Merge them first with Merge PDF, then compress the merged file here. Scanning in black and white helps a lot.

The PDF is password protected

Remove the password with Unlock PDF first (you need to know it), then compress.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress a PDF to 200 KB on my phone?

Open this page in your phone’s browser, tap the upload box and choose the PDF from Files or Downloads. Press Compress and download the result. No app is needed.

Will the signature on my form still be visible?

Yes. Signatures on scans stay visible at 200 KB; the tool keeps as much image quality as the limit allows.

Why is my result much smaller than 200 KB?

Each step is tried in order and the first that fits is kept. If the first, gentlest step already gives 90 KB, that is what you get, at the best quality.

Is there a limit on pages?

Files up to 50 MB are accepted. Very large documents may not fit in 200 KB; you will be told if the target could not be reached.
