How it works

1

Choose a document

Tap the box or drag a Word file onto it. DOCX, DOC, ODT, RTF and TXT all work, up to 50 MB each.

2

Convert to PDF

Press Convert. Pages, fonts, tables, images, headers and footers are laid out exactly as in the document.

3

Download the PDF

Save the PDF, ready to email, upload or print. Your document is deleted from our server afterwards.

A Word document can look different on every computer: a missing font, another version of Word or a phone app can move lines, push a table onto the next page or break your layout. A PDF fixes the layout in place, so your CV, assignment, invoice or letter looks exactly the same for everyone who opens it, and it cannot be edited by accident. This converter turns DOCX, DOC, ODT, RTF and TXT files into a clean, print-ready PDF in seconds, without Microsoft Word installed.

When you should send a PDF instead of a Word file

Send a PDF whenever the reader should see the document, not change it: job applications and CVs, invoices and quotes, signed letters, reports for a client, and assignments submitted to a teacher or university portal. Many of these systems accept only PDF.

Keep the Word file for yourself. If something needs to change later, edit the DOCX and convert it again. If you only have the PDF, the PDF to Word tool turns it back into an editable document.

Fonts and layout

Your document is laid out by a full office engine with metric-compatible versions of common Word fonts, including Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New, so line breaks and page breaks match Word closely. Fonts are embedded in the PDF, so it looks right even on a computer that does not have them.

Headers, footers, page numbers, tables, images, text boxes, columns and hyperlinks are kept. Tracked changes are shown as they appear in the document, so accept or reject them in Word first if you do not want them in the PDF.

If you used an unusual or decorative font, the closest available font is used instead. For a perfect match, save the document as PDF from Word itself using “Save as PDF”.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert Word to PDF without Microsoft Word?

Upload the .docx or .doc file on this page and press Convert. The conversion runs on our server, so you do not need Word, Office or any app; it works from a phone too.

Which file types can I convert?

Microsoft Word DOCX and older DOC files, OpenDocument ODT (LibreOffice, OpenOffice), RTF and plain TXT files.

Will my formatting change?

Pages, tables, images, headers, footers and common fonts are kept. A rare decorative font may be replaced by a similar one; for a pixel-perfect copy use “Save as PDF” in Word itself.

Are links in my document kept?

Yes. Hyperlinks to websites and email addresses stay clickable in the PDF.

Can I convert several documents at once?

Yes. Add up to 10 files; they are converted one after another and you can download them one by one or together as a ZIP file.

Are my documents stored?

No. Each document is converted in a private temporary folder that is deleted as soon as the PDF is sent back to you.
