How it works

1

Choose your photo

A recent colour photo, facing the camera, against a plain white or light background, without glasses.

2

Pick e-Visa, OCI or passport

Square presets for online uploads with the right KB range, or 35 × 45 mm for printed passport photos.

3

Download and upload

Check the preview, then upload the JPG to the portal or print it.

Indian applications use different photo formats depending on what you apply for. The e-Visa and OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) portals want a square digital photo with a KB limit, while passport applications use a printed 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo. Uploads are rejected for the wrong shape, a file that is too big or too small, or the wrong format. This tool prepares each version from one photo.

Indian e-Visa photo

A square JPEG between 10 KB and 1 MB, at least 350 × 350 pixels, with the full face visible from the front, eyes open, no glasses, against a plain white or light background. The face should be centred, from the top of the hair to the chin.

The preset makes a 600 × 600 photo between 10 KB and 300 KB, which fits inside the official range and also the stricter limit some visa centre portals use. You can raise Max KB if your portal clearly allows more.

OCI card photo

OCI applications usually ask for a square photo of 200 × 200 to 900 × 900 pixels, JPEG, up to about 200 KB, on a plain light background. The signature for OCI is uploaded separately; use the Signature Resizer for it.

Requirements on the OCI portal have changed over time, so read the instructions next to the upload box and adjust Min KB or Max KB if they differ.

Printed Indian passport photo

For passport appointments and paper forms, a colour photo of 3.5 × 4.5 cm (35 × 45 mm) on a white background, face clearly visible, is standard. The printed preset crops to exactly that size at 300 DPI.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Indian e-Visa photo size?

A square JPEG from 10 KB to 1 MB, at least 350 × 350 pixels. The preset creates 600 × 600 pixels between 10 and 300 KB.

What is the OCI photo size?

Square, 200 × 200 to 900 × 900 pixels, JPEG, usually up to 200 KB. The OCI preset creates 600 × 600 pixels under 200 KB.

My photo is rejected for being too small in KB. What do I do?

Keep Min KB at 10 or higher. Small files are saved at higher quality and, if needed, padded so they meet the minimum without changing the picture.

Can I wear glasses?

For the e-Visa, no glasses. Remove them for all Indian visa and passport photos to be safe.

Does this guarantee acceptance?

No tool can. This gets size, shape and file size right; the photo itself must meet the background, lighting and face rules.
