How it works

1

Add your images

Choose or drag up to 20 photos. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and iPhone HEIC all work, up to 50 MB each. The target is already set to 50 KB.

2

Press Compress

Quality is lowered step by step first. Only if that is not enough is the image made smaller in pixels, just as far as needed.

3

Download

Every file shows its new size and pixel dimensions. Each result is 50 KB or less, ready for the form or site that asked for it.

Fifty kilobytes is a very common limit for passport-style photos on application forms, for profile pictures on school and company systems, and for images inside newsletters. It is small enough that a straight-from-the-camera photo will always be rejected, but big enough to keep a face photo looking clean. Upload your image here and get a JPG of 50 KB or less.

How a 3 MB photo becomes 50 KB

Most of a photo’s size is pixel count. A phone takes photos around 4000 pixels wide, while a form shows your photo at a few hundred. At 50 KB a photo usually lands between 550 and 700 pixels wide with good JPG quality, which is sharper than most portals ever display.

The compressor searches for the best quality that fits instead of using one fixed setting, so a simple photo keeps more detail and a busy one is shrunk a little more. You see the final size and dimensions before you download.

When 50 KB is too much or too little

Some forms want a size range, for example 20 to 50 KB. Results from this page are close to the limit, so they normally fall inside the range. If a form asks for exact pixels as well, such as 350 × 450, use Resize Image, where you can set both.

If you are sending the photo by email or posting it online rather than filling in a form, 50 KB is smaller than you need. The 200 KB or 500 KB targets keep far more detail.

Common problems and fixes

The form wants a size between 20 and 50 KB

Results land just under 50 KB, so they fit most ranges. For an exact range plus fixed pixels, use Resize Image with Min KB and Max KB.

My photo came out about 600 pixels wide

That is the typical size for a detailed photo at 50 KB. Plain backgrounds and simple scenes keep more pixels.

The portal rejects PNG

Leave Output on JPG, which nearly every upload form accepts. Keep the original format only if the form allows it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result exactly 50 KB?

It is at most 50 KB, usually between 40 and 50 KB. It is never larger than the target, which is what forms check.

Can I compress many photos at once?

Yes, up to 20 images in one go. Each one is brought under 50 KB separately and you can download them one by one or as a ZIP.

My photo was already under 50 KB. What happens?

If you keep the original format, you get the same file back unchanged. If you choose JPG output, it is converted to JPG and still kept under the limit.

Will the photo look blurry?

At 50 KB a face photo stays clear at the size forms display it. Detail is reduced, so do not use the 50 KB version for printing; keep your original for that.
